Japan CPI Fall Shows Inflation Goal Far Off - WSJ.com
"Japan's core Consumer Price Index fell 0.5% in March from a year earlier, in a sign that the Bank of Japan is still far from its goal of achieving a 2% rise in prices in two years.The decline was slightly worse than a 0.4% fall forecast by economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires and The Nikkei. It also comes after a 0.3% fall in February.The reading of the core index, which excludes fresh food prices, marked the fifth straight month of falling prices.
